Fall in the Hamptons

Summer has come and gone, and summer was one for the books. Surf Lodge reportedly had poured 12 million gallons of rose (I mayyyy or may not be a part of that percentage)J. Summer is a lot of fun but more people are starting to realize my other favorite time in the Hamptons: The Fall. Even with the weather changing, there is still a ton to do in the Hamptons all the way to the holiday season. Here are a few things I love during the fall season in the Hamptons:

1.       Wolffer Estate: What? Did you think just because “rose season” is technically over, I’m going to stop going to my favorite place? Absolutely not. They are opened year-round and always have events going on! They just had their Harvest party that looked incredible! Although at times the Tasting Room is closed (currently they have 10/13, 10/20, and 10/27 being closed), you still have The Wine Stand and Wolffer Kitchen in Sag Harbor and Amagansett. Head to one of their locations and taste their new No, 139 Red Cider, or gear up for announcements of lighting of the vines :)

2.       Restaurants: Even though I was out there almost EVERY.SINGLE.WEEKEND this summer, it was still tough for me to get reservations at spots I wanted to try. Heading out there during the fall season gives you that chance to enjoy all the places you’ve been “dying to get a reservation at”. My suggestions: Lulu Kitchen & Bar, Dopo La Spiaggia, East Hampton Grill, Pierre’s, Tutto il Giorno, and Sen.

a.       Also: if you rather stay cozy at home by the fire, these are my to go spots for a quick pick up of food: Round Swamp Farm, Cavaniola’s (both the cheese shop and their Kitchen) and Levain Bakery.

3.       The beach: who doesn’t love a good beach day? During the fall, before it gets too cold, I absolutely love going to the beach right before sunset. Something about being at the beach with some wine in hand, makes for a great ending to a relaxing day out east.

4.       Apple & Pumpkin Picking: From Farm to table all summer, why stop during the summer months? Go and pick some apples and pumpkins and continue to make new recipes for the fall table. Some fan fav’s: Hank’s Pumpkintown and Milk Pail U-Pick Farm (my fav because they also have a corn maze).

5.       Events: Again, just because the summer season is over doesn’t mean there aren’t events happening all around the Hamptons. Here are a few:

a.        Stephen Talkhouse: you may have gone during the summer, but they still have shows going on with some of the same performers from the summer. Think: Hello Brooklyn, LHT, DJ Matty Nice, and Hot Date Band. More info: http://stephentalkhouse.com/?date=11-12-18&showroom=0

b.      Gurney’s: This place is opened year-round and they always have new things going on. Between wellness weekends to Football Sunday’s, you can head to their spa for a quick massage before your team plays on Sunday funday. My favorite: go before sunset and grab a drink and enjoy the firepit before dinner. More info: https://www.gurneysresorts.com/montauk/happenings

c.       “Light the Lighthouse” for Montauk Lighthouse: annual event which will happen on November 24th at sunset (approx. 4pm). More info: https://montauklighthouse.com/events/lighting/

d.      Ghost Hunting at the Rogers Mansion: From now until November 3rd, the Rogers Mansion will be taken over by the spirits of Halloween. More info: www.southamptonhistory.org

e.      Lighting of the Vines: Bringing it back to Wolffer estate (how can I not), they host an annual Lighting of the Vines each year. It is truly a special event that you should definitely mark your calendars for. More info: www.wolffer.com

Until next time J
